Discord Bot Setup
Add and link the Fivemanage Bot to your Discord server
Connect the Fivemanage Bot to your Discord server to enable role management, notifications, and whitelist integration features.
Prerequisites
Before starting, ensure you have:
- Discord Server Admin permissions
- Manage Roles permission in Discord
- Access to your Fivemanage team dashboard
Adding the Fivemanage Bot
Step 1: Access Discord Settings
- Navigate to app.fivemanage.com
- Find the Discord Server Whitelist Link section
Step 2: Add Bot to Server
- Click the "Add Fivemanage to your Discord server" button
- You'll be redirected to Discord's authorization page
- Select your server from the dropdown
- Review the requested permissions
- Click Authorize
The Fivemanage Bot requires the following permissions:
- Manage Roles (to assign whitelist roles)
- Send Messages (for notifications)
- Use Slash Commands (for bot commands)
- Read Message History (for command context)
Step 3: Configure Bot Permissions
After adding the bot, ensure proper role hierarchy:
- Go to your Discord Server Settings
- Navigate to Roles
- Find the Fivemanage bot role
- Drag it above any roles you want it to manage
The Fivemanage Bot can only manage roles that are positioned below it in the role hierarchy. Place it high enough to manage your whitelist roles.
Linking Your Team
Using the /link Command
- In any channel where the bot has access, type
/link - The bot will respond with a unique linking URL
- Click the URL to open the linking page
- Confirm the team connection
Verification Process
The linking process:
- Verifies your Discord server ID
- Connects to your Fivemanage team
- Syncs available roles
- Enables integration features
Once linked, the connection persists. You only need to link once per server.
